Which Plastic Products Are The Safest?

Based on the previously mentioned 7-level plastic classification system, the following categories of plastic products are generally considered to be among the safest:

Type 5: PP (Polypropylene)
This is the most widely used safe plastic in daily life. It can withstand temperatures up to 130℃ and is the only general-purpose plastic that can be microwaved. It is BPA-free and can be reused repeatedly after cleaning. It is commonly used to make lunch boxes, water cups, and food storage containers.

Type 7: Tritan (Copolyester)
This is a high-end safe plastic, completely free of BPA, BPS, and other bisphenol A-related substances. Some are medical-grade materials. It can withstand temperatures above 100℃ and is a widely used, safe material for baby bottles in Europe and America. It is commonly used to make infant water cups and transparent drinking vessels.

Type 7: PPSU (Polysulfone)
This has extremely high safety, withstanding temperatures up to 200℃. It is drop-resistant and corrosion-resistant. No BPA is added during the manufacturing process. It is the mainstream material for high-end infant bottles, offering excellent overall performance. The only drawback is its relatively high price.

When making daily purchases, look for the "food contact" label on the product and avoid improper use scenarios for products such as No. 1 PET (cannot be reused in hot water), No. 3 PVC (releases carcinogens at high temperatures), No. 6 PS (cannot be microwaved), and ordinary No. 7 PC (easily releases bisphenol A) to ensure maximum safety.
